30 something, overweight (actually the term the doctor used was 'morbidly obese'), out of breath and stressed is not who I want to be yet that was my reality once...
I am sure that by now you have come across a million fad diets and "How to" weight-loss programs and blogs and you are now as confused about how to approach weight loss as I was at the beginning of my weight loss journey. What I learned after years of trying all sorts or crazy diets is that genuine sustainable weight loss is a three step process;
(1) You need a mindset shift,
(2) You need to put in the work to achieve your goal
(3) Maintenance is a daily commitment over a lifetime.
The problem with all fad diets & quick weight loss programmes is that they skip step one and get you to plunge straight into step two with no real consideration of how you will achieve step three on a long term basis.
When I decided to go on this weight loss journey I knew that a quick fix would not be a sustainable approach so I took time to mentally prepare and research on how people maintained weight loss and the answer I found was that I needed a LIFESTYLE CHANGE not a diet.
As I started on this journey towards a new lifestyle, somewhere along the roach at the 12kg loss mark I got my groove back! That spring was back in my step, my skin glowed and my smile was always on display with all immediate health concerns at bay I felt sexier than I had done since before the babies came along, Jo was back with a bang!
